I’m Denise, Your Perimenopause Diet & Nutrition Specialist, for Midlife, Menopause Health Changes!
If you are looking for a perimenopause diet and nutrition specialist, I am here to help!
I am a women’s dietitian nutritionist helping women in midlife, and I would love to work with you to help you make this time your best!
I have worked with women’s nutrition for over 30 years, with much of that time in menopausal nutrition.
I was raised in the Midwest in Missouri & moved to the Southern Appalachian Mountains for my husband’s work. We love hiking the mountain trails with our trusty dog, Hilda!
I am a mother of one and a grandmother of three. One of the most important roles I had in my life was being the caregiver for my mother, Betty, in her last year of life.
I enjoy cooking, gardening, painting, & working in fiber arts. I dabble in jewelry making, and I love to travel!
Just like you, I want to feel my best and do what I love. I want to make this season my best! And as a midlife dietitian and perimenopause and nutrition specialist, I am excited to help you embrace your life’s new changes and help you learn how to flourish as you age!
Together, let’s make this time in life our best! We can do it and I am here to support you along the way!
My Work Experience in Women’s Health
My work experience as a perimenopause and nutrition specialist has been dedicated to helping women in their midlife stay healthy and vibrant. For 10 years, I worked with post-menopausal women in a national research study called the Women’s Health Initiative.
Our team studied the foods that can help women stay healthy as we age, and the study looked at the benefits and risks of hormone replacement therapy.
I have also taught at a local university as a professor of women’s health studies. Over the last 30 years, I have worked with middle-aged women individually and in group classes, teaching them about healthy eating to prevent chronic disease, helping them have a healthier relationship with food and their bodies, and teaching them how to prepare delicious and easy meals and snacks!
I went to college to get my Bachelor of Science in human nutrition and foods at the University of Missouri at Columbia.
And I completed my Master of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition along with my Dietetic Internship at Saint Louis University.
In school, I loved to learn about the human body, the chemistry and preparation of food. However, the part that I love best about my career is being able to help people change their lives for the better!
I am looking forward to sharing my experience and expertise with you to help overcome your challenges in eating healthy so you can reach your dreams of being your best in your next chapter of life!
Let’s Have A Great Time Working Together!
In The Media
Here are a few interviews that I have done on nutrition and health on television, radio, magazines, and newspapers! I have enjoyed sharing my message of good health and nutrition with the public in the media because it can reach more people than working with one person or a small group.
