Tips for Creating Simple Holiday Recipes and Menu Ideas

Here are a couple of tips for putting together your own simple holiday recipe and menu ideas:

  • Choose a variety of colors of food, so it is beautiful in addition to being delicious
  • Pick a variety of textures for interest. Examples include smooth and creamy, crunchy and chewy, and crispy.
  • Select a variety of flavors that go well together, so everything doesn’t taste the same but doesn’t clash.
  • Make a menu using a variety of cooking methods so that everything doesn’t need to go on the stovetop or oven at the same time. This also allows for an interest in the temperatures of food. Ideas may be a refrigerated salad, a room temperature dessert, or a steamy soup or entree.
